The reason for the high price of coconuts in Ben Tre is attributed to the decline in the output of raw coconuts, along with that, traders are pouring into buy desiccated coconuts in large quantity, so the price of coconuts has increased sharply.
In recent times, the coconut material in Ben Tre province is affected by the salinity of the year 2020 and the first months of this year, this is also in the off-season period, making the coconut tree reduce fruit yield. So, the coconut output in Ben Tre is much lower in this season.
Meanwhile, the price of raw coconuts has increased sharply due to exporting and domestic demand. However, the demand for imported coconuts from other countries such as Japan, Korea, Russia, etc. continues to increase, so the price of coconut is pushed up. The prices of coconut are getting more and more increasing dramatically with a nonstop signal.
Continuous effort of True Fruits’ young generation
True Fruits not only focuses on improving the quality of coconut products but also focuses on improving the lives of farmers. We have sent our agronomists to Ben Tre Province to research and develop the complete transformation of farming to organic agriculture. Instruct farmers to culture and breed the natural enemies such as “chelisoches variegatus” and “tetrastichus brontispae” to destroy insects that damage crops. Provide “chelisoches variegatus” and “tetrastichus brontispae” to farmers, guide and train farmers towards sustainable and effective development to improve and enhance farmers’ knowledge.
Nguyen Van Ra, A pioneer in our Organic project and the farmer who has the largest area as well shared his insights into the effectiveness of the natural enemy bees after applying for his coconut farm: “Three years ago, I used the chemical pesticide to control the harmful insects in our farm, however, I worry about negative impacts on my family health and the ecological balance. And, I have tried the other environmental methods but cannot reduce the damaged crops. Afterward, thanks to Mr. Kien’s help, an agronomist of True Fruits Company, I have found a suitable remedy oriented to agricultural development stability. Instead of being cost consuming for chemical pesticide, the volumes of coconut have increased significantly.”
Under True Fruits’ strategic perspective, the definition of quality is not only covered by the sphere of product quality but also the standard living quality of farmers for good.
Besides coconuts, True Fruits also exports large volumes of a variety of tropical fruits such as pomelo, dragon fruit, and ginger.
